Exchange rates and the election. Suppose Kerry wins. Some analysts think that would be bad for the dollar, as a President Kerry may not be as tolerant of Asian intervention as President Bush is now. Asian intervention in our currency markets has been propping up the dollar and keeping its slide from getting worse than it already is.
Other analysts think that the election of Kerry would strengthen the dollar. Our deficit spending, coupled with our poor interest rates, is keeping foreign investors away, and is therefore lowering the value of the dollar w.r.t. other currencies. Electing Kerry could indicate to foreign investors that the United States is prepared to follow a more responsible economic policy and could encourage them to buy our currency again. I tend to agree with this view.
If the outcome of the election is in doubt and both candidates are forced to go to court to settle it, that may drag the dollar down as that would indicate to foreign investors that our government is unstable.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Politics. The European attitude is: We don't like Bush, but Americans in general are still okay. If Bush gets in again, that sentiment could change somewhat. Still, a Euro is a Euro as far as the ladies in the clubs are concerned, and you shouldn't see a drop-off in quality of service. As for the Iraq war, that was a more popular topic two years ago, when the war was getting started. Nobody talks much about it now.
Paradise Lost? Atlantis went down, but is back up again thanks to the folks at FKK World. Will it get back to what it was? Who knows. One thing you can be sure of: times change. Clubs go down, new clubs are started. Popular clubs decline, and so-so clubs get new talent and suddenly become great. Your favorite ladies retire or move on, but you can always meet someone new. I think we'll have our Paradise for a long time to come, and it will be a new adventure each time we visit. Hopefully, we'll still be able to afford it. |

In response to C-F-I-T I would like to point out that while Calygula has improved greatly over the last few months, and is on the upswing, it still doees not have "more and better talent" than Bernd's. It is a much smaller club (in terms of girls and guests, not physical size), with a much slower and relaxed pace. Many guests sit and chat for a while before actually going off to the room. While couch action is easily available, it is not as common as at Bernd's. I have had 4 or 5 visits over the last year, and in general will find 1 or 2 girls to my liking, and 3-5 girls that might be nice, but are just not my type (physically). Many of my visits have been on a Saturday night, and perhaps this is not the best time, but it is all I can do.
Also, as a general comment, I have found recently that service in the Frankfurt area proper has dropped significantly with the original closing of Atlantis. I can speculate on the reasons, but in the end I find price pressure (entrance and girls) is up, and service down. I have not visited Oase for a number of months, and have no desire to do so until I hear from a few people it has greatly improved. I have the same feeling about Palace, but have recently heard a few comments it has gotten better, but you have to get the right girl. For me it is still a bit of a crap shoot - it is often hard to tell the gems from the rocks unless you frequent a place often. I prefer to go up North where the probability is much higher of getting a good provider, and at a much better price. Yes, it's a drive if you stay in the Frankfurt area, but for me it is worth the trouble. For example, I can not remmeber the last really good time I have had at Oase, but can't remember ever missing at Golden Time or Happy Garden. If your style is the direct attack, straight to the room, do this and that, out the door, then you will have better luck around Frankfurt than I do.

When the cost becomes too much
Recently returning from a trip to Germany where the old mighty Euro had risen to a record high I had no choice but to ponder the concept of actual cost versus fun.
Current Dollar versus Euro Costs
100 Euro = $132 US Dollars
65 Euro = $86 US Dollars
50 Euro = $66 US Dollars
30 Euro = $40 US Dollars
25 Euro = $33 US Dollars
What the figures above show are what one should expect to pay for service and fun in Germany.
A day at one of the Super Clubs like Oase, World or The Palace have the following cost factors.

While still the best service and value around if this continues then the cost will end up affecting
my visits to Germany.
On the other end some people are still paying $1000 to $1500 for one day of service with higher cost outfits like Viking. Escorts run about $200 and up for an hour. TJ brothel women are asking $70 for a rushed 30 minutes, room and tip. MP's run a min $100+ for 30 minutes limited by latin and asian staff. Where does this all fit in? Cost versus service?

Thank god airfares are still paid in Dollars and not the Euro, as that might break the camels back sooner.
What are people doing as a result?
Less sessions but in search of better quality then quanity. Targeting clubs that offer more service for less money.
Lets take example the Frankfurt area and Northern areas. The Frankfurt area is usually more expensive and sometimes lacks quality. Oase for example has now taken the position as the World's Biggest FKK Club with over 100 women available at one time, World second and The Palace third. Please note I don't feel that physical size of a club equals "the biggest", it's the number of women that I count. With the huge number of women these clubs lose track of who is good and who is bad. The women end of competing for the few customers and some even try to force longer more expensive sessions. Selling extras like FT or Anal, strecthing out the session by slowing things down to go overtime to bill for an hour. There are even women who refuse to go to the room for less then an hour.
Frankfurt still has some value clubs that help with balancing the cost factor. For example Bahama Club which offers as low as 25 Euro entry and 50 Euro sessions. Dietzenbach FKK Club which has a 50 Euro Entry and 30 Euro per session cost. Note Dietzenbach is noted to be a German client only club, thus some visitors may be turned away.
I found Bahama Club to have more attractive and willing women but I was able to find 2 women to my liking at Dietzenbach.

Since the bulk of clubs lies in the near Cologne and Dusseldorf competition seems to set price. There are far more 1/2/3 session discount deals and 50 Euro Entry, 50 Euro per first 30 minutes and 25 Euro for additional 30 minutes and 25 Euro extras. But what makes the later clubs stand out is the consistant quality of service and bonus of extended time and extras at only 25 Euro.

If you do find a gal in one of these clubs that will get you off twice in an hour here are the stats:

Conclusion
The cost of service has gone up, the quality of service has stayed the same at some clubs, dropped at others and gone up at some. It averages out to $94 to get laid in Germany, from the pleasure I got from this recent trip at the current exchange rates it still makes sense to visit Germany. Perhaps its looking back at the days when the D Mark was used and I paid a third less? Things do change and hopefully the dollar will return to what it once was as in the past. History does repeat itself as you may have noticed.

The best way to acquire foreign currency may be to arrange it through your own bank. Another way is to use foreign ATMs to access your own account. Your exchange rate will be about 2% over the interbank rate, provided that your bank does not charge a currency coversion fee on top of the fee charged to access foreign ATMs. Ask if you're not sure.
NOTE: The interbank rate is the exchange rate you see referenced in the newspapers or over the internet. It's reserved for those trading large sums of currency; i.e., millions of dollars.
I'd also suggest calling International Currency Express in Beverly Hills, California. The toll-free number is 888-278-6628. You'll pay about 4% over the interbank rate, which is comparable to that charged at foreign banks and is preferable to the 7% to 10% percent charged at airport exchange booths. News Article: German Men Losers in Bed, Survey of Women Finds
BERLIN (Reuters) - German men are losers in bed and nearly
half of the women in the country say their partners leave them
unsatisfied, according to a report in the best-selling newspaper
Bild Friday.
A survey of 345 women between the ages of 18 and 59 by the
INRA research institute found that four in 10 were disappointed
with their partners.
The survey was printed beneath a page one headline that
read: "The bitter truth about Germans in bed -- nearly every
second women says: My partner can't satisfy me." The women
complained of being neglected or that their partners were too
rough.
"A horrible picture emerges whenever I have therapy
sessions with couples and then talk with the women alone,"
Professor Hartmut Porst, a leading sex therapist, told Bild.
"The women complain about their men, saying they feel sexually
neglected."
He added that many German women have the impression that
their partners treat sex as a "required duty" rather than
something romantic or even spontaneous.
"It's almost as if the men are looking forward to a date on
the calendar rather than an erotic experience," Porst said.
Dr Werner Habermehl, head of the Gewis institute for social
research, said he found more than 30 percent of the women he
surveyed recently disappointed with their partners.
"Men just don't know enough about the world of feelings
that women live in," Habermehl said.
The newspaper also quoted a 22-year-old woman who complained
about her partner.
"Everything that my friend does in bed seems so
technical," said the chemist identified only as Kerstin. "It's

Germany vs. Thailand - Some Candid Thoughts
I often sit around comparing Germany to Thailand as I daydream the day away.
Firstly I know a lot of German tourists who have sex in Thailand but do not enjoy the FKK scene. If you go to Pattaya, the north area past the final right turn (where the beach road ends momentarily) is primarily a German tourist area. The Thai Garden Hotel is basically a German hotel in Thailand. I have stayed here often (although this is not my favorite haunt). In a day long of drinking, a conversation usually gets started about the sex issues. Beleive me some of these guys are just here for the sun, with their wives and are not out for anything. I always thought it was funny to be sitting around the pool with a Thai prostitute in a revealing bathing suit talking to tourists who are just there for the sun and tourism....but I guess that is my sense of humor.
Actually I think the defining point is that the Thai prostitute really wants to be your girlfriend. I'm not talking about girlfriendsex, I'm talking what they perceive to be a real girlfriend. There are many websites that cover this and the poor fool who gets involved in this situation.
The point here is that I honestly believe a lot of the prostitution in the resort areas of Thailand (and I have been to all of them) is guys looking for some sort of girlfriend situation and the girls are either going along with this or actually have some feeling for some of the guys which can develop into some sort of relationship.
This is evidenced by the multi day situations that guys get themselves into with the girls. In Germany, for the most part, it might be girlfriendsex but the girl is certainly not leaving to go to your hotel and spending a week with you. In rare occurances this has happened, but if this is not for free, then the German girl will want to be compensated at an amount that no man will pay. In Thailand, this all night, food, entertainment, shopping thing with the girl is quite common and not that expensive.
In my opinion, the Thailand whore monger and the German whore monger are two totally different breeds. The man in Thailand is generally looking for a greater relationship than the German brothel situation and that is why Germans with perfectly good brothels two blocks from their home, travel to Thailand for sex.
This is not to say that there are exceptions....and I consider myself to be an exception. I don't want a Thai prostitute girlfriend. When I am in Thailand I seek out the same type of situation found in Germany.....a brothel, where I can make a pick and have sex with a lot of different women. There are many good ones, but there are also bad ones....same as Germany. The Thai brothels that I would go to include the plastic mattress massage with body to body. This is a nice experience. They also include a bath. And by the way, there is a huge selection of every type in the Thai brothel. But even with this there are problems. For one, if you do not know what you are doing, the taxi or tuk-tuk driver will get a huge commission and you will be actually paying the commission in a round about way. This tourist trap b.s. does not of course go on in the FKK scene, but if you have ever had the displeasure to visit Hamb. the same kind of tourist rip off scams do occur.
One big difference for me is that Bangkok is a fun city....there is a lot to do and see. After you go to an FKK, especially in winter, you are usually not going on a tuk-tuk ride to see the Golden Budha. Yes, we have museums in Germany, but let's face it, for the sex tourist there is nothing to do for the most part. Some are lucky to have residence in the area, so after the FKK it is off to home for a hot meal, some sleep and another day at work....to make more money to spend at the FKK!!!!! For the tourist, Thailand wins.
As I think things over, another problem is that these Thai women are for the most part smaller than European woman and are not the sexual perverts(in a good way) that you can find in the FKK. Even a good bj is sometimes hard to find in Thailand with this "you want I smoke you"? crap. This is not to say that it does not exist and some excellent oral can be had. Also from my experience (and I am certainly not saying that I have a 16" penis)the Thai girls cannot always take a good pounding. They have a smaller body size and it is genarally smaller all over. This ends up in all kinds of problems with condoms breaking and stuff that no one needs, like the girl bleeding. I much prefer the European woman....there has never been a problem here...mostly all seem to take little Rolf with no problem at all.
So where am I going here.....am I writng a book?? I like the girls better at the FKK (look and sexual ability) and the FKK is a perfect brothel situation. I like the fun and sun in Thailand and the excitement of the cities there. If you do not want to get involved with the girls, the FKK is the winner. It really depends on what the man is looking for.
I also want to add that if a tourist is smart and stays in a reasonable guest house in Germany (not a Hilton)the cost will not be that much different and the quality higher in Germany. The airline ticket is cheaper to Germany when coming from the U.S. and Americans will find Germany and the US looking almost like the same country as far as good highways and food places. But, you must have an auto in Germany...and good maps. The first timer is probably better off with a tour. I remember the old days, trying to find a new FKK (and this is half the fun for me, the expectation of a new greater place) and driving around trying to find the place. In Thailand if you do not know what you are doing and look a little goofy, you will not get the right price, you will not find the right places and you will not see the real highlights. A first timer who is not a good talker definitely needs some guidance here.
Also the breakfasts are better in Germany (Thai people usually have soup for breakfast) and no one can argue this.
In continuing my thought on this subject;
Another reason I would prefer Germany is health issues. All of the big brothels in Thailand claim that all the girls are checked regularly and that they have health cards. Even the girls from the bars boast that they have a health card. This was a very good factor wen I took it at face value.
However, after being in Thailand for a few years, and getting better with the Thai language (and making some Thai friends), I took a closer look at this situation.
Most of the cards are pure B.S. They might have a photo, or lines with writing, and even some look very official. For the most part B.S. Some have a very old card (Thai calendar is different) and others have totally false documents. Doctors can also be made to sign a card without administering any test for a fee. Don't count on this medical safety issue if this is important to you.
In Germany I have witnessed a government administrator with a policeman checking working cards and health stamps at German brothels. I have heard the girls discussing that they were going to the doctor the next day and I have even seen a doctor in the house checking the girls for vaginal problems. I am confident (or as much as you can be) in the German system.
I have even read that the prostitutes in the Netherlands are not checked by law, as they petitioned the government and won "rights for prostitutes". One of these rights was NOT having to get regular health exams and HIV tests every three months. I believe I read this in the newspaper and it was not a German brothel owner trying to sell his services over the Netherlands brothels.
Once you get into the Netherlands, due north of our favorite area, you come to cities which also have large brothels. The majority in one town were girls brom Brazil, which I would personally be interested in. However, after I read this news, I said to myself "why not just stay in Germany?".
So, this is another comparison that I believe is correct.
If you are a goof, go to Germany (or make sure that you utilize a tour guide in Thailand).
The Katoi (Ka toy) issue is one where you will surely end up in your room with a very pretty little man if you are not sharp and have been "out there".
Thailand has some of the best transexuals and transvestites in the world (if you are into this great), so you will probably be fooled and spend some time with a person who is or was once the same gender as you. If you do not want this to happen.....go on a guided tour....or go to Germany.
Germany has some of the ugliest, most disgusting transvestites and transexuals I have ever seen. A big German guy does not look good in this mode. You will not screw up here even if your glasses are broken. |
